Alpine Breeding Stock

The Alpine dairy goat comes from Switzerland originally and comes in many beautiful colors schemes and are a very lovely breed.

Alpine bucks

The Alpine dairy goat is second only to the Saanen in popularity on commercial dairy farms in Canada and we really wanted to not only have a breed that many commercial and hobby breeders wanted but also have a breed that we really enjoyed and wanted to improve ourselves. We were fortunate enough to start with some great Alpine stock from some incredible farms that were kind enough to sell animals to us in the beginning of our farm start up.

Occasionally we sell a Herdsire.

Alpine Bucks that have made an impact in our herd; some of which no longer reside on our farm

  • Trilyte Zemo EX90, Zemo was sold in 2020 as we had many offspring in our herd and felt it was time to move him on despite how well of a breeder he was for us and a favorite gentle Hersire here. He is our highest classified buck to date going EX90, a beautiful buck originally from Suzan Frazer of Manitoba.

  • Flying Bird Zubaru Tennyson, A buck that was from a West National Champion doe in Flying Bird Tristan VG88, he was an exceptional breeding buck while being here on the farm, he was sold to another dairy farm. (A buck I regret selling)

  • Wey South Double Double VG85, This was a pure black that really caught your eye, he was used for several years here as a Herdsire before being sold to another commercial dairy in BC.

A.I. Bucks that we have used and will possibly have some offspring available from

  • Alpine
Pleasant-Grove Mink Maestro EX92, He has the highest type index of any buck in Canada of any breed of 174! Eatgen’s description: Maestro boasts ADGA National Class winners on both sides of his pedigree.
An impressive individual himself, his dam is the ADGA National Show winner Pleasant-Grove Super Mink EX91 . Maestro will be sure to generate excitement as Canada's #1 Type buck! When bred to taller, longer animals, breeders can expect exceptional mammary system improvement and added width, depth and strength.

  • Alpine
Weavers Super Nova. Eastgen’s description: Solar Storm's sire is a former #1 Alpine Buck in the breed for Type index. His dam "Sunshine EX-91” is an impressive doe with an ideal udder and feet & legs. ”Sunshine EX-91” is a milking machine. Her 3 lactations were all over 1,000 kg and she did it all with a snug, beautifully attached udder. Expect Solar Storm to be a source for solid production improvement and to sire long-lasting offspring with outstanding, functional conformation.

"We have bought several bucks from Hillside Dreams Goat Dairy and have never been disappointed. Their careful breeding and selection of sires has added great genetics into our herd."

- Patrick & Cherylynn Bos of Ponoka Alberta

“It has been a pleasure dealing with Barrie and Merel.  They did their best to get me what I was looking for. We bought some really nice looking bucks from them. Their offspring aren't milking yet, but their kids are just as big and growthy as their fathers are. We are looking forward to seeing how they do in the milking parlour.”

- Deana Boer, Agassiz, B.C
